Praying for Tears

I think you can relate. I have prayed for tears. Not that I wish God would make me sad for no reason. Tears come for many rational reasons: for pain, for all kinds of sorrow, for empathizing with the suffering of others. And tears also come in the myriad forms of worship of our Living God and Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Nothing could be more rational.

I am grateful that God has answered that prayer. There were some years where tears came hard. I felt detached, like a spectator, even in times of worship and moving testimonies, and I wanted to feel God's heart and what He was doing in the moment. For the last several months specifically, God has graciously moved me to tears of worship quite often and at surprising moments.

I am stronger for it. My faith is stronger. My love for God is stronger. My love for my family and the unknown world is stronger.

In the Kingdom of God, things are often upside down from the world's point of view. God has shown me more clearly that His Kingdom within my soul is the same. He has given me tears of joy :-)
