9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.  (2 Corinithians 12:9-10

This is a powerful help to those of us who are:

  • weak

  • insufficient for a task

  • despised

  • suffer various hardships

  • persecutions or calamities!

Paul says, "For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with (my) weaknesses"!  Praise God!  His power is made PERFECT in weakness. To the world this is foolishness. But to those who are listening and seeking, this is wisdom.

The truth is that all of life is out of our control.  Yes, we need to use the talents and gifts God has given us to work for the call to ALL Christians:

19"Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” (Matt. 28:19-20)

It is not superheros who GO and do this or who give sacrificially to support the work.  It is the weak.  In other words, it is those who will admit that they are dependent on God, and that in comparison to His infinite power are utterly without hope that God chooses to show His great Love, Compassion, and Power.  His power is made perfect in weakness.
